May 18-24, 2026, Ponte de Lima, Portugal

A nature, culture, and history retreat

With Ronald Siegel, PsyD, Larry Cammarata, PhD, & Linda Cammarata, RYT

From the Buddha’s earliest teaching to the wanderings of Zen masters, meditators have appreciated the power of nature to cultivate mindfulness and the understanding of interdependence. And being emersed in other cultures, especially those that are slower, more sensually attuned, with histories of deep spiritual practice, can heighten our awareness.

Ponte de Lima is one of the oldest towns in Portugal. It is a place of exquisite natural scenery, beautiful gardens, a charming village, culture, and warm-hearted people. Complementing its relaxed ambience, Ponte de Lima is a health and wellness-oriented destination where you will see kayakers, runners, hikers, walkers, bicyclists, and enchanted nature lovers enjoying the activities along the Lima River.

Our retreat setting is the elegantly beautiful Paço de Vitorino, a former palace that offers a variety of cultural and leisure activities due to the proximity of the Lima River with its extensive trails, the Atlantic Ocean, the surrounding mountains, and the Caminhos de Santiago. We’ll enjoy meditation, gentle mindful movement, and clinical education while exploring the local area and people.

This will be an intimate trip with ample opportunities to reflect on our experiences together as well as to explore their clinical implications.

Enrollment is limited. CEs are offered for most psychologists, physicians, social workers, nurses, and licensed mental health counselors.

September 10 - 16, 2026, Lefkada Island, Greece

A nature, culture, & history retreat

With Ronald Siegel, PsyD, Larry Cammarata, PhD, & Linda Cammarata, RYT

Lefkada is a beautiful island located in the Ionian Sea in western Greece. Known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and scenic landscapes, it’s villages are characterized by traditional architecture, narrow streets, and colorful houses that reflect the island’s rich culture and history. There are many well-maintained trails that offer an opportunity to explore the island’s flora and fauna while enjoying magnificent views of the Ionian Sea. Lefkada is also famous for its gastronomy, which is a blend of traditional Greek and Mediterranean cuisine.

We’ll learn and practice together at the Mimosa Retreat Centre, a serene, expansive Balinese-styled property set on beautiful grounds with a panoramic view toward the Ionian Sea. The villas are set amongst beautiful lush foliage and ancient olive trees, with stunning views of many small Greek islands.

This will be an intimate trip with ample opportunities to reflect on our experiences together as well as to explore their clinical implications.

Enrollment is limited. CEs are offered for most psychologists, physicians, social workers, nurses, and licensed mental health counselors.
